The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) organized the Saudi-Chinese Water Cooperation Forum on the sidelines of the 3rd Asian International Water Week in Beijing. The forum aimed to enhance collaboration between Saudi Arabia and China in the water sector and promote opportunities for investment, development, and innovation within the industry.

The event was attended by Saudi Ambassador to China, Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, alongside representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Investment, key stakeholders in the Kingdom's water sector, and leading figures from both public and private sectors in the water industry.

Discussions centered on investment opportunities within the water sector, with the Saudi Ministry of Investment highlighting the available prospects in Saudi Arabia and stressing the significance of international partnerships to drive progress in the sector and tackle critical global challenges.

Chinese companies presented cutting-edge solutions, green technologies, and innovations designed to improve the efficiency of the water supply chain. The forum also explored avenues for strengthening cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China in water and renewable energy sectors.

During the forum, six agreements were signed to bolster water partnerships between the two nations, and around 35 presentations addressed major water issues, best practices, and global trends and challenges.

At the close of the event, Saudi water sector representatives discussed efforts to localize the water industry in the Kingdom, promote innovation in water treatment and reuse, and develop future projects across the water supply chain. These initiatives aim to support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Water Strategy.

The forum emphasized Saudi Arabia's commitment to advancing the global water sector and fostering international cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals, improve quality of life, and secure long-term water sustainability.
