Saudi Water Authority (SWA), represented by the committee to examine and adjudicate violations of the Water Law related to the jurisdiction of SWA, has issued a series of decisions regarding violations that were detected and referred to the committee by authorized enforcement bodies.

The decisions included total financial fines exceeding one million riyals against 24 violators. These penalties are in accordance with Paragraphs (12) and (14) of Article 67 of the Water Law, which stipulates unlawful connections to the water and sewage networks and damage to licensed equipment and devices.

SWA emphasized the importance of adhering to the provisions of the Water Law and its regulations when obtaining water and sewage services, stressing the necessity of not tampering with water meters.

SWA will also continue its inspection and monitoring rounds on an ongoing basis to detect such practices that violate the provisions of the Water Law and take legal action against the violators.

In order to improve the quality of life throughout the Kingdom and support Saudi Vision 2030, the SWA aims to increase compliance with water sector laws and regulations as one of its strategic objectives. This will ensure that water is delivered with the highest efficiency and quality, in accordance with international standards.
