SWA Organizes a Workshop on Developing Water Transportation Services

The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) organized a workshop today in Riyadh to develop water transportation services, focusing on opportunities and solutions for water tankers and distribution points. The event was attended by the National Water Company, private sector partners, and the H.E. the President of the Saudi Water Authority, Engineer Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkareem, along with several leaders from relevant entities.


The workshop aimed to integrate and coordinate ongoing efforts among all sector entities to improve water transportation services in the Kingdom. It also sought to enhance the regulatory framework, coordinate with relevant government agencies, and activate digital technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve the beneficiary experience. Additionally, it focused on leveraging best practices both locally and internationally.


The workshop also reviewed several roles of the Authority in regulating the water sector and developing services in line with its strategic priorities and directions, from which several supervisory and regulatory initiatives have emerged to ensure water supply and its sustainable management.
